The Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Nusa Cendana University proudly organized the 1st International Conference on Economic, Management, Accounting and Tourism (1st ICEMAT), held from 2–6 August 2023 in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. This inaugural conference marked an important milestone in strengthening academic discourse and advancing research collaboration in the fields of economics, management, accounting, and tourism. As part of its commitment to high-quality scientific dissemination, the 1st ICEMAT collaborated with the internationally reputable publisher Atlantis Press for the publication of its official proceedings.
The conference is formally documented in the Proceedings of the International Conference on Economic, Management, Accounting and Tourism (ICEMAT 2023), following the conference session held again on 18 October 2023 in a hybrid format in Bali, Indonesia. Initially, conference information was hosted on the official website https://icemat.undana.ac.id, but the ICEMAT committee has now moved its official website to a new address for improved management and long-term accessibility: https://conferences.prodimanajemenundana.id.
The published Preface, accessible at https://www.atlantis-press.com/proceedings/icemat-23/preface, opens with universal greetings—Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Om Swastiastu, Namo Buddhaya, Shalom, and Greetings of Virtue—followed by acknowledgements to the honorable leaders of Universitas Nusa Cendana, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha, Universitas Mahasaraswati, and Universitas Bhayangkara Jakarta Raya. Special recognition is given to the distinguished keynote speakers: Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto, Prof. Madya. Dr. Mohd. Hizam bin Hanafiah (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia), Dr. Alexandre de Soussa Guterres, Lic., Eco., MM (Universidade da Paz, Timor Leste), and Rahatama Atidira, ST., MM (Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha). The Preface reflects the spirit of the conference theme, “Sustainable Digital Innovation for Creative Economy and SMEs,” emphasizing the role of sustainable innovation and digital transformation in supporting creative industries and empowering SMEs in an evolving digital landscape. The committee highlights the hybrid mode of the conference, which enabled broader participation and fostered the exchange of knowledge, ideas, creativity, and innovations beneficial to economic development and social prosperity. Deep appreciation is extended to the co-host universities and the Organizing Committee of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Nusa Cendana, for their dedication and successful coordination of the event.
As part of the publication process, all articles presented at the conference underwent a rigorous peer-review and editorial evaluation, conducted by experienced reviewers and editors.
