Bibliometric Analysis of Cashless Payment Methods

Cashless Payment is defined as processing all transactions at the retail point of sale through personal smart devices. Mobile payments are recently used extensively as an effective way of making a transaction. Cashless Payments
mean using digital instruments to make payments, including mobile wallets, electronic payment, mobile payment, and cryptocurrency. New forms of financial and banking payments were developed due to the global use and spread of the internet and mobile. In this study, a full bibliometric analysis is performed on the topic ‘Cashless payment’ using data from the Scopus database, which provides 1978 documents from 2010 to 2020. This study utilised the VOSviewer and Microsoft Excel software to analyse and visualise the data, focusing on the publishing trends, citation features, and the geographical distribution of the research area. The findings of this study
indicated a great rise in research on ‘Cashless payment’ after 2010 with the
highest number of published studies in 2020, where we found that there are
dominant research subject areas, dominant papers, and the most productive institutions in the digital financial transactions field, notably the technology development and side-effects of the cashless payment.This paper provides a basic insight to ongo research and decision-making future direction the
evolving field of digital financial transactions
