The development of community-based tourism demands the active involvement of local communities as key actors in delivering high-quality and sustainable services. However, the limited performance of human resources often becomes a major challenge in managing local tourism destinations. This research investigates the impact of training and work motivation on employee performance in a community-based tourism village located in Bandung Regency. A quantitative method was applied using a survey approach, involving 50 respondents who are actively engaged in tourism-related activities within the village. Data were gathered using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through multiple linear regression. Prior to regression analysis, classical assumption tests such as normality, heteroscedasticity (Glejser test), and multicollinearity were conducted. The findings reveal that both training and work motivation exert a positive and significant influence on employee performance, whether considered individually or jointly. Among the two variables, training was identified as having a slightly more substantial effect than work motivation. These findings strengthen the Human Capital and Self-Determination theories in the context of local tourism development. Practically, the results emphasize the importance of sustainable training investments and motivational strategies to improve service quality and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in community-based tourism settings
